Testing

Continuously validating Cableizer is a task we take serious. An extensive test suite ensures that simulation results are always accurate and reliable. Cableizer is continuously and automatically validating its simulation results against accredited values from publications and data sheets of cable suppliers.

CIGRE TB 880

The CIGRE Technical Brochure (TB) 880 is the final report of the Working Group B1.56 and discusses the verification of current rating calculation tools. The broschure provides 49 Guidance Points on how to make the rating calculations. From these, 27 points were clarifications and already implemented in Cableizer. The remaining 22 Guidance Points are either deviating from IEC 60287, are an addition to the standard, or they deviate from the existing implementation in Cableizer. For these, the user can select if he wants to follow the Guide, use IEC standard, or consider the Cableizer method.

We also modelled all Case studies from TB 880. We implemented all necessary changes to our software and reach now basically full compliance. The results are presented and the PDF reports available for download on our website under CIGRE TB 880.

The following validation reports treat specific topics:

Software certification

There is no possible certification for the Cableizer software because there exists no notified body or standardization company which can give an approval for cable rating software tools.

Publications

We attend and participat regularly at technical events to keep updated, learn the newest in developments and maintain contacts and have published several technical papers ourselves.
